We have updated the button bar in the Editor, sped up progress calculation, and added support for the Thai language. Read on to learn about other important changes.
Splitting work between multiple translators
Assigning tasks is now much more convenient: managers can, in addition to assigning one or more documents, split a single document among multiple translators. For each translator, managers indicate either a segment limit (for example, segments 1–100 for translator A and segments 101–end for translator B) or word count limit.

So if a translator says that he or she can take 2,000 words, for example, the manager specifies the segment to start from. Then Smartcat automatically calculates which segment contains the 2000th word after the starting segment. This segment will be the final one for that translator. If necessary, the manager can manually adjust which segment will be the final one.
On-the-fly document updates
Now you can update source documents while translation is underway. When a source file changes, upload the new version and Smartcat will make all the necessary adjustments: segments will be added for new text and removed for deleted text. Translations of unchanged text will be inserted automatically. Simply translate the new text and download the translation.
This feature works for formats that contain identifiers: PO, RESX, CSV (IIKO), TJSON, and PHP arrays.
Adding target languages to a project
Now you can add a target language even if a text is already being translated into other languages. This is available via the Settings menu.
Enhanced localization of RESX and XLIFF files
When you add XLIFF or RESX files (which are used for app and site localization) to your project, the text for translation is imported alongside the keys and comments from the files, which will be visible to translators in the usual Smartcat comment tab. These comments help translators to better understand the context of the interface strings.
